Description
A stitching awl is a tool with a thin, tapered metal shaft that has a sharp point and is used to make holes in materials or enlarge existing holes. It can also be used to sew heavy materials like leather or canvas. Stitching awls are a cross between a scratch awl and a diamond awl and have a shorter blade and heftier handle that provides more control and protects the blade from damage. Some stitching awls have a built-in bobbin with waxed thread that allows you to pierce holes and sew at the same time.
